Job Overview :
Angola Iron & Steel Corporation is seeking talented and detail-oriented Draftsmen/CAD Engineers to join their team in Angola. The role involves creating precise technical drawings and 3D models for engineering projects using CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Technical Drawing & Design
- Create and modify detailed 2D/3D technical drawings and models using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit)
- Produce construction, assembly, and fabrication drawings with accuracy and completeness
- Interpret and translate project requirements into technical drawings, including dimensions, materials, and tolerances
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure designs meet functional and aesthetic standards
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics for engineering projects
- Organize project documentation, including revisions, change orders, and technical specifications
- Ensure all designs are compliant with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations
Quality Control & Accuracy
- Verify the accuracy of designs, drawings, and 3D models
- Update and revise CAD drawings as necessary, ensuring changes are clearly marked and tracked
- Ensure drawings and models meet industry standards and are suitable for manufacturing, construction, or assembly
Project Support
- Provide technical support during manufacturing, construction, or assembly phases
- Collaborate with the project management team to ensure deadlines and project timelines are met
- Assist in design optimization, suggesting improvements or modifications based on project needs
- Participate in design reviews and provide insights and updates on design progress
Job Requirements :
Education & Experience
- Diploma or degree in Drafting, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in drafting, CAD design, or engineering
- Hands-on experience with software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar programs
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D design and modeling techniques
- Experience with mechanical, civil, electrical, or architectural drafting depending on the specialization
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software and practices (for architectural roles)
- Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Knowledge of design standards, engineering principles, materials, components, and manufacturing methods
Additional Skills
- Familiarity with project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Trello, Jira)
Certifications & Tools
- Certification in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD tools is preferred
- Familiarity with other engineering design tools (e.g., CATIA, NX, Inventor) is a plus
Personal Attributes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about design challenges
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
