Job Overview :
Goodman’s International, a trusted name in industrial staffing since 1994, is recruiting for an NDT Level II Quality Inspector position. This role involves performing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections, preparing test reports, and ensuring compliance with industry standards for a leading steel company in the Middle East. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control, pipe manufacturing, and NDT techniques.
Job Purpose :
As an NDT Level II Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, making procedure and test reports, and resolving issues through practical demonstrations of NDT tests. You’ll face third-party inspections and ensure compliance with customer and system requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Inspection & Calibration: Select and calibrate NDT equipment, prepare samples for testing, and verify calibration references.
- Testing & Reporting: Conduct NDT tests (UT, PT, MT, RT), interpret results, and prepare detailed reports on pipe quality and size.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to API 5L, API Q1, ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ASTM A53, ASTM 500, and other pipe standards.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve quality concerns during inspections, including third-party evaluations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the calibration and maintenance of NDT equipment (UT, ECT, MT, PT).
- Documentation: Prepare and review NDT reports to meet industry and client standards.
Authority on the Job :
- Recommend leave and reporting for direct workers.
- Stop processes for product non-conformity.
- Manage shift manpower for quality targets.
- Review and approve NDT reports.
- Oversee discharging processes during shift changes.
- Monitor all NDT equipment and processes.
- Ensure employee health and welfare during operations.
Preferred Competencies :
- Education: Diploma/Engineering degree in a relevant field.
- Certification: NDT Level II certification in UT, PT, MT, RT.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in quality control, with at least 2 years in pipe manufacturing.
- Skills: Analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and proficiency in NDT techniques (ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, dye penetration).
- Communication: Fluent in English with computer literacy for report writing.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues during third-party inspections and practical NDT demonstrations.
Employee Profile :
The ideal candidate holds a Diploma and NDT Level II certification (UT, PT, MT, RT) with 10 years of experience in quality control and pipe manufacturing. You should have expertise in ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, and dye penetration testing, along with a proven track record of resolving issues during third-party inspections. Proficiency in English and computer skills for report writing are essential.
